Here's a PDF file that tells the story of our project's beginnings. It's interesting, honest!
And here's a PDF file that explains some of the
theory of our vision. You'll get a new idea of how simple means can do great things for the Lord.

Here are five short PDF's gleaned from a single source. The focus here is the work of Elder John H.N. Tindall. If--like most Adventists--you've never heard of him, or if you only know of his books and not his "Gospel-Medical-Missionary Evangelism" work, then you owe it to yourself to read these. Well worth the trouble.

  1. This overview of Elder Tindall's life was written by Dr. Calvin Thrash as a term paper back in 1969.
  2. This paper focuses more on the work of Tindall's "Field Training School."
  3. This is a description of Tindall's method of attracting public interest through health lectures.
  4. Two letters, one from Dr. A.W. Truman (Secretary of the General Conference Medical Department and Medical Director of the Washington Sanitarium and Hospital), and then Elder Tindall's reply, give insights into the situation in 1931 and Tindall and Truman's thoughts.
  5. This is a short quote from John Burden that sheds some light on his understanding (at the very least) and possibly Ellen White's as well. It's his memory of what she said on her first visit to Loma Linda.

And just a mention that Dave Fiedler gave four presentations at the Western Youth Conference on June 26. He covered a lot of the history that helps explain how "Medical Missionary" work has been carried on (good and bad) for the last hundred years. May sound a bit dull with just that for a description, but it's really dynamite stuff. You can download both audio and PDF's of the presentations at AudioVerse.
