Church Sponsorship

One of the first concepts that impressed us when we began what is now Adventist City Missions was that the Lord calls for a similar work "in every city." We haven't bothered to get an actual figure for what that means, but it surely must be in the thousands. How can that ever be done?

The Lord has promised to supply the needs for His work (when faithfully carried out), so that leaves the matter of personnel as the primary road block. If you as an individual, or perhaps as a member of a local church group, would like to help fill this need, please consider the option of being--or sponsoring--a volunteer Bible worker in our Wichita pilot program. Our goal has always been to provide room, board, and necessary work expenses [e.g., gasoline] to a team of volunteer Bible workers. How much is that per month? To be honest, it's too early to tell with any great level of accuracy. We only have one such volunteer at the moment, and she is so frugal that it's probably not any good indication of actual expenses on a larger basis.

If you would like to volunteer in our project, it would be a blessing if your local church could financially sponsor your work here. And if your church would like to begin a similar outreach, perhaps it would be wise to sponsor a volunteer in our project to "learn the ropes" before coming home and beginning Gospel Medical Missionary Evangelism in your city.

We are primarily thinking of that "army of youth, rightly trained" that everyone has been talking about for so long, but there is also the possibility of volunteer positions for retired individuals. The Lord's work is big enough to allow for some variation, so we're willing to think outside the box. How about you?
